Fusion - more bugs!

Hello!

This week I sent my 14 year old off to a five week outdoor education camp. During these five weeks she does a daily morning run at 6am, works on the farm, does a three day camp and a survival exercise, completes a four day hike where she and a small group navigate their way independently across about 50km (there are supervisors dotted through the countryside for safety), does the cooking and cleaning and her own laundry, and all sorts of other adventures including a 24 hour solo during the final week of camp. This camp is a part of her school curriculum. All grade 9 kids attend at various times during the year. This five weeks is probably the coldest and I'm hoping I've sent her with enough warm clothing and the right sleeping equipment! I think one of the most difficult parts of this camp, other than being away from friends and family, is that they have no electronics - no cameras, phones, music players, computers. The only communication is by old-fashioned letter. I'm hoping to receive my first letter by the middle of next week. I already sent the first one from me. I'm missing her already, but I know she'll be having a ball.

Onto the reason for my post, it's time for the new challenge inspiration over at Fusion Card Challenge. I've used the sketch only this time and made a fairly CAS card.
I used SU! Beetles & Bugs and Lawn Fawn Milo's Alphabet stamps. I might send this to my daughter. She isn't a fan of bugs or beetles, but I think she does slightly appreciate my warped sense of humour. :-)
Isn't this a sweet inspiration?

Thank-you for dropping by! I hope you are able to take some time to visit the rest of the team for some additional awesome inspiration.

CAS(E) This Sketch 222 - Bugs!

Hello!

I have a new stamp set. I couldn't resist it. My family think I'm crazy and can't imagine who might want the cards I make with this set. I'm sure there are other bug lovers out there other than me, haha! Using Stampin' Up! Beetles & Bugs I created my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge.
I added a little shadow using a cool grey Copic to make the bugs stand out. My eldest daughter asked to touch the card after I told her the trick, she couldn't believe it was a flat card with no raised bits. :-)
This sketch is a great one for the ideas bucket. So easy to work with and so many ways to interpret it.

Thank-you for coming by to visit.

I hope you are inspired to join us in the fun this week!

CAS(E) This Sketch 221

Hello!

I had a lovely time creating my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge. The sketch is really easy to work with and offers opportunities for multiple interpretations. I chose to take the focus rectangular shape literally and made the background rectangle by repeat stamping the sentiment. I had originally thought of using patterned paper, but the stamping won the day and I love how it turned out.
I used PTI Botanical Blocks stamps and dies. I coloured with Copics.
I can even see this sketch successfully made into a colour-blocked card with a simple sentiment. It's awesome!

Thanks for dropping by to visit!

Fusion - Navy Patterns

Hello!

For the Fusion Card Challenge we have lots of inspiration from both the sketch and photo. I've chosen to make a Fusion card using both this time around.
I used SU! Floral Phrases stamp and dies along with the coordinating patterned paper. Unusually for me I used a single design set from a single company to create my card!
Thank-you for visiting me! I hope you're inspired to join us at Fusion Challenge this time around. I just love seeing everyone's creations in the gallery!

CAS(E) This Sketch 220

Hello!

I'm bringing you flowers for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! I took the sketch quite literally and layered flowers and leaves across the bottom portion of my card.
I used Simon Says Stamp Flower Friend stamps and staped in greys, pinks, and reds. :-)
I hope you are inspired to join us in the fun this week!

Thanks so much for dropping by to visit with me!

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge - Red

Hello!

Well April flew by in a flash for me! What a busy month!

I'm here to start off the month of May with the Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge. This month we have the optional twist of "red". Red is one of my favourite colours so I cannot wait to explore our gallery. :-)

For my card I did some freehand watercolouring and created some red flowers. The only stamping was the sentiment.
Sentiment is from HLS Doodled Flowers. Watercolours are Winsor & Newton Cotman.
I hope you can join us this month with a little watercolouring of your own!

Thanks for visiting!
