GDP051 and NBUS7 - Pineapples!

Hello!

Recently a fabulous SU! pineapple stamp made its way into my collection. To be honest, this pineapple almost jumped out of the catalogue and into my lap on my first flick through. ;-)

This week at Global Design Project the theme is FOOD which is just perfect for me to take my pineapple on its first outing. :-)
Having spent many days on my aunt and uncle's pineapple farm as a kid, pineapples have a special place in my heart. In fact, they have a special part in our whole extended family's hearts because we all spent many happy times on that farm. This card is for my aunty. I also made her a boxed set of pineapple cards as a gift with pineapple-stamped envelopes to match.
I haven't photographed them all, but they're all different colours, just like real life pineapples!

This pineapple also fits into the category of NBUS (never before used schtuff) so I'm entering over at Darnell's current challenge.

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 187

Hello!

It's time for the new CAS(E) This Sketch Challenge! The sketch is perfect for those of us who like things all lined up neatly. ;-) I made a Get Well card with bright flowers.
I used Happy Little Stampers Doodled Flowers stamps and coloured in Copics.
It's been such a busy few weeks at work. Combine that with two kids who've been sick and I'm a bit tired! We had a 9th birthday party here last week-end with 16 little girl guests. Oh my! The mayhem and noise! Haha! This week-end my eldest daughter is playing in a concert on Saturday with rehearsals all afternoon prior. Then she has water polo trials on Sunday afternoon. There's no rest for the wicked, as they say. :-)

CAS(E) This Sketch 186

Hello!

For this week at CAS(E) This Sketch I had brilliant idea to use patterned paper and dies. No stamping! Everything was going well until I made one small error on one of the two cards I was creating, which then meant BOTH cards had a small error. I'm not going to tell you what it is, and hope you don't notice, haha! ;-)

This first card was my original concept.
This is the fabulous inspiration sketch. I love this. I had all sorts of awesome ideas, but sadly not enough time to make them all.
The second card was a bonus from the fact that I cut two rectangles to create my angled cut for the original card.
Here they are side-by-side, showing off that pretty paper. It's Stampin' Up! From the current catalogue, but I've forgotten its name. The "hello" die is from Papertrey Ink.
Please take some time to visit the rest of the team, they've made some amazing cards.

Thanks for visiting me!

Altenew August Challenge

Hello!

Have you seen the inspiration over at Altenew's August Challenge? Flamingoes! They're so fabulous I just had to join in. There are already many, many beautiful cards in the gallery. It's worth heading over to take a look - they're GORGEOUS!

This is my card for the challenge.
I used Wild Hibiscus and Label Love stamps. I masked the butterflies and stamped flowers and leaves in the background in a very pale warm grey. I love how this turned out.
Thanks for dropping by to visit!

Tag You're It 53

Hello!

As soon as I saw the inspiration at Tag You're It! Challenge 53, I was determined to join in! Michele has made the most beautiful long tag and I just had to CASE her. :-) I have left it almost to the last minute, but I still made it in time. ;-)

This is my version.
I used Wplus9 Fresh Cut Florals stamps and dies. The tag is PTI Bookmark die. I embossed the background with a Sizzix Diagonal Stripes embossing folder.
Now I must rush. I have to take my daughter to ensemble practice. She has four hours of playing this afternoon and she's suffering a fever and cold. This rehearsal is too important to miss, so the cold tablets are in action. :-(

Thanks for visiting!

CAS(E) This Sketch 185

Hello!

I'm here with my card for CAS(E) This Sketch!
I used PTI Harvest Berries and a Hero Arts sentiment.
I missed last week. I had two German violinists living in my rumpus room for the week and I couldn't sneak in to use my craft supplies! It was lovely to have the girls with us, they were excellent guests, and missing my crafting was a small price to pay. :-) They were part of Stuttgart Youth Chamber Orchestra and they were attending a youth orchestra event here in Australia - they toured Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. My daughter's ensemble hosted them while they were here in Brisbane.

This week I've had my 8 year old with a vomiting virus. It's been rather horrible, as these things tend to be. I'm very tired. Even though I've cleaned everything top to bottom three times over, I still feel like I haven't got it all clean. So many loads of washing! The good news is (crossing fingers and toes) that the rest of us haven't caught it.

Yesterday, when I thought she was better after about 30 hours clear of illness, I took her to the Ekka (the annual Brisbane Fair). We had a great time looking at the animals and went on a ride and checked the displays out and ate food. Then her tummy started aching again so we headed quickly home.

I'm hoping next week is less eventful in our household!

Thanks for visiting!
